It was another fun-filled week of adventures in Nashville!
Monday 5/5:
- Meetup: Lunch at Thistle Farms Cafe to celebrate Idealist Day! It is a nonprofit social enterprise helping heal, restore, and employ women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction.
- Took my first of three tennis lessons/classes with Nashville Parks & Rec! One of the many perks of staying in one place for awhile.
Tuesday 5/6:
- Meetup: Schermerhorn Symphony Center - Philharmonic Concert. Experiencing a performance at the Symphony Center was on my Nashville bucket list. Thankful it was a “pay what you can” community event so it was budget friendly!
- Finished my 13th book of 2025… The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well by Meik Wiking. I’m glad I read it since it was on my list for a long time, and I still don’t think I can pronounce the word correctly, but I know it’s all about coziness.
Wednesday 5/7:
- My first ever attempt at donating platelets! Unfortunately it wasn’t quite the experience I was hoping for, and I didn’t get to complete the full donation, but the good news is they were able to use what they were able to get!
If you want to learn more, check out this info from The Red Cross on Platelet Donation.
- The job hunt continues… found out that although I made it to a 4th round interview last week, that I ultimately was not selected for the position. It’s all good though, it was one of the more awkward interviews I’ve had, and think it is the universe pushing me in another direction.
Thursday 5/8:
- Meet & Greet with a local entrepreneur who started Folx Table to see how we can partner! She is pretty awesome and has already introduced me to others!
- Meetup: Top Golf! Another new to me experience, and one that several group members had requested.
- Finished my 14th book of 2025… The Next Conversation: Argue Less, Talk More by Jefferson Fisher. It was awesome, I’ve already recommended it to several people and look forward to listening to it again! Soo many simple, but helpful tips, and I love that the author read it!
Friday 5/9:
- Adventured with Sparky starting with coffee and a Monopoly Deal lesson at Kave House of Haggai, followed by a wander around the Sumner County Museum. Fun fact - the museum founder started this project when he was still in grade school and the museum is celebrating 50 years this year!
- Caffeinated with Danny at Drips Coffee Shop and brainstormed for future Meetup stuff.
- Dined with Tash and her sister Tamara, (who is visiting from Australia), at Sadie’s! Delicious Mediterranean food!
Saturday 5/10:
- Meetup: Coffee & Conversation (Belle Meade) at The Picnic Cafe. It was a beautiful day and we utilized the outdoor patio Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy this weather because it will get hot and humid soon enough.
- Meetup: Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery - we took a wander around the grounds and a tour of the mansion, (no photos allowed) ,and learned a ton about Tennessee’s equestrian history including the very famous - “Bonnie Scotland“! Our tour guide Mary Jane was amazing! Coincidently the local horse race, Irioquois Steeplechase, was happening on this day too!
Fun fact: “Bonnie Scotland was the greatest sire to ever stand at Belle Meade and his descendants represent more than two-thirds of all Kentucky Derby winners to date, including 11 Triple Crown Winners. Bonnie Scotland died in 1880, the same year he was named the leading sire in American racing.”
- Rooftop hang with Tash, Tamara & Danny at Lou/Na on the 25th floor of the Grand Hyatt. Great atmosphere and view!
Sunday 5/11:
- Meetup: Axe Throwing, another new to me experience, followed by group dinner at Olive Garden.
- Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
Hope this was inspirational in some way!
