6 Months in Nashville!
I love acknowledging milestones in life…
6 months ago today, on 11/22/24, I arrived in Nashville, TN!
Why I came to Nashville…
My Facebook post sums it up, but to give some more context…
I was ready for a change of pace, and job, and wanted to be in one place to do a mind/body/life “tune up”.
Looking at a map of the US I thought… where haven’t I lived that intrigues me… and Nashville was it!
Although I had been to Nashville a few times before as a tourist, I wanted to see if it could hold my attention for awhile, so I visited in September to view it through a different lens.
Why I’m not ready to go…
Beautiful green nature is everywhere!
Music everywhere, all the time and usually free!
My TN Bucket List isn’t complete
More visitors planning trips to visit!
Country road drives have become a simple pleasure.
Southern Hospitality is a thing and I love it!
People & Community especially those I’ve met through my amazing Meetup: Nashville Social (30s-40s)
A new career/business venture! Here is a SNEAK PEAK :)
Music and songs have played a big role in my life…
I Lived by One Republic - is what I consider my life theme song.
“I, I did it all
I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places
The things that I did”
The Life by Kenny Chesney - is a reminder for what is important in life.
“I said I make a good living back home where I'm from
He smiled and said, "Amigo, me too"He said I fish and I play my guitar
I laugh at the bar with my friends
I go home to my wife
I pray every night
I can do it all over again”
This Music City chapter is no different…
Pictures on a Wall by Ira Wolf - Last year, while on a campervan road trip, I heard this song and it was my “ear worm” for most of the year. Upon landing in Nashville, one of the first things I did was hang some pictures and postcards on the wall.
“I've climbed the mountains in Montana […]
And Washington will always be
Begging for a piece of me to stay
Maybe some things never change […]
But I want to know how it feels to hang pictures on a wall
Sleep in the same bed at night“
Am I Okay? by Megan Moroney - Shortly after arriving in Nashville, I started hearing this song on the radio and even though the song is about a guy, these lyrics resonated with me in thinking about my experience living here so far. Every time I hear it on the radio I do sing along…
“I think I’m really happy, I think I want to stay… oh my god, am I okay?“
Hope this was inspirational in some way!
